Stephanie Birdsall Workshop Held weekly on Thursday mornings 9 - Noon. Running continuously. She has designed a class using traditional teaching methods for pastel and oil painting. The classes will include; still life, plein air and the effective use of photographs in the studio. $50.00 per session Stephanie's Pastel and/or Oils 5 Day Workshop This workshop is an extension of her recently concluded workshop in Pasadena, CA. New students and beginners are welcome, instruction will include attention to individual skills. Plein air and studio. PAINTING THE LANDSCAPE OF TUSCANY
Instructor: Judith D'Agostino June 5 – June 12, 2009 In the beautiful hills of Tuscany lies the lovely and ancient town of Cortona. Actually located on the border of Tuscany and Umbria, Cortona offers some of the most beautifull places to paint plein air. Cortona is only fifty miles from Florence between Arezzo and Perugia. Before the city lies a vast and beautiful plain, it is flanked on either side by distant hills and valleys while behind it are towering yet fruitful mountains. Cortona has a picturesque aspect, quite a bit longer than wide, turned toward the midday sun. The city is situated high above the valley and numerous vantage points in town offer stunning views of both the valley and Montepulciano to the west and the mountains to the east, dominated by Mt. We will travel together to various locations during our week together and in the evening we will feast on a gastronomical delight! Transportation is provided.
