Dear Members,
For those TPAPS members who missed it, I wanted to give you all an account of our 2006 Spring Associate Member Show held at the Northern Trust Bank in Tucson. What a good one!
I can't say enough superlatives to describe the level of talent among our artists that participated. The show coordinator for the bank mentioned that we had the best quality paintings of all the shows that she's done this far. The rooms and corridors were packed with guests, and at the end of the night we sold a respectable number of paintings!
For this juried show (by Ray Roberts www.krollroberts.com) , there were 102 entries, representing 11 States. We had 30 entries from Tucson and 8 from elsewhere in Arizona. Of these entries 47 artists were included in the Show.
For all of you who came from various parts of the US....Lynne Cunningham from California, John Davis from Wyoming, Julie Houck from Hawaii...just to name a few...I give a big thank you for making the long trek!

Rays' Statements
There are so many beautiful paintings in this show. Here are the parameters that I used in my selections:
Artistic Statement: I looked for a point of view, an editorialization of the scene depicted.
Light: Does the painting create a sense of "being there".
Craftsmanship: Was the painting thoughtfully and carefully executed.
Clarity: Was the painting organized interestingly and intelligently.
