Paint-out Schedule for 2011-12

Paint-outs are held the 1st and third Sat. of each month from Oct. through May. You may attend one Paint-out before becoming a member of TPAPS. The events start at 8:00am unless a special time is noted. Check back to this site for changes.

*This year once a month we will be joining the Pima County Park and Recreation, Environmental Education Program. These events will be published and a brochure will be printed with all the paint-out locations, and will include the Signature Members names giving the demonstrations. Park personnel will be at most paint-outs directing the public to us. We hope to promote our lovely Pima County Parks and the Art of Plein Air Painting.

*The Art Institute would like to invite members of the Tucson Plein Air Painters Society to a paint-out at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. This opportunity will be during the Festival of Flight on October 14, 15 and 16, this year from 8:30am to 5:00pm.

If members of your group would like to do some plein air painting in beautiful surroundings with plenty of visitors around to see your work this is your chance. We would provide a free a pass for each of your participating members to get onto the museum grounds and a map of some good painting locations. You may also enjoy the festival while you there.

We would need a list of interested participants and which days they would like to spend at the museum painting by Friday, October 7, 2011. If you are interested let me know which date works for you and I will send a list to them. Need to have it by October 7. Send to joyce@tpaps.com

*Tpaps has been invited to join OPA 7th Annual Great Paint Out 2011. This will take place October 22, 2011 at The Farm at South Mountain in Scottsdale, Az. from 10am-2pm. 3 CIENEGA CREEK

(need to have a head count for Wendy) Pima park paint-out . We all need a free permit to get in.*Lois Griffel giving demo. Cienega Creek Natural Preserve, 16000 E. Marsh Station Rd. From Tucson on eastbound I-10, exit 281 (Sonoita/Patagonia), turn left to cross I-10 to Marsh Station Road. From westbound I-10, exit 281, loop exit to Marsh Station Road. Travel northeast on Marsh Station approximately 3 miles and watch for first lot (trailhead parking) sign on right. Park and walk around locked service gate, following trail. At "Y" bear right and follow trial down to creek. This is a 10-car lot.

Happy New year. If you don't want to sit and watch football meet us at De Grazia's home and studio at 6300 N. Swan Road, 8am. This location is close to the Catalina Mountain range, you may paint in the wash behind buildings or the structures that De Grazia built and designed. Meet later at 10:30 to share paintings and conversation.
