Arizona State Parks is sponsoring a series of  plein air contests at several of their parks. 

This series of contests is part of a celebration of the Anniversary of the Arizona State Parks system.

*There will be a small non-monetary prize for the first place winner of each contest.   They are giving two tickets to Kartchner Caverns State Park . 
* In addition, there will be a one month show of the first three place winners from each contest.  This show will be in Tubac, January of 2009.

*The painting time will be from 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M on each scheduled contest day.  Judging will be done by the contestants at each event shortly after noon.

*You MUST have your canvas/paper stamped by the State Parks representative at the meeting site prior to painting. It must be BLANK,  no drawing, only a prep / solid color wash (to cut glare) is accepted and will be stamped. You may have multiple pieces stamped.

*Bring a frame/mat to help keep your wet painting safe and to help it show better.

*Any medium that is 2D.

 *Any plein air painter may attend any one or all of these ten events. 

* Winning any of the three places awarded will add a line to your resume, and give you a opportunity to be the final gallery showing which will be in Tubac in 2009.

2008

 January  5th   Boyce Thompson Arboretum - State Park Paint-out  12:00-4:00  Open to all, this event launches the "Treasures" show of winners from 2007 paint-outs.

 March 22     Lost Dutchmen State Park-  8:00am - 12:00pm  State Park Paint-out. Bring sunblock, sack lunch, water, hat.   We are hoping for flowers.

 May 10th    Tonto Natural Bridge- 8:00am- 12:00

 July 19th    Fool Hollow

 September 27th    Dead Horse State Park  Cottonwood
