ENTRY FORM

 

     This juried show is open to all members of TPAPS.  A total of 2 paintings may be submitted.  Only plein air works will be accepted.  They can include architecture, landscapes, the figure or still life that has been executed outdoors. Artists may enter work in any painting or drawing medium, including oil, acrylic, water media, pastel, graphite, pen & ink and colored pencil. The pieces must be original, conceived and executed by the entrant.  They must not have been executed in a workshop or classroom or under instructor supervision. 

 

ART WORK MUST NOT HAVE BEEN EXHIBITED IN PREVIOUS TPAPS SHOW OR EXHIBITION.

 

Paintings in the show will be photographed for publicity and placed on our web site WWW.TPAPS.COMThe photos will be kept by TPAPS for our permanent show records.

 

ELIGIBILITY:  All who are members in good standing (dues paid) are eligible to enter paintings into the show.

 

AWARDS: First Place: $1,000.00, Second Place: $300.00, Third Place: $200.00, and three Honorable Mention awards.

 

SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING:

 

1. Entry Fee:  $30.00.  Please make your check payable to: TPAPS

2. This signed entry agreement and the completed Submission Form.

3. Your guest mailing list, limited to 10 names/addresses; Northern Trust will mail these invitations. Please print neatly or type the information.

4. Slides must be submitted with a dot on the upper right corner and labeled with artist name, title of art, size, and medium for jury selection.

5. One SASE envelope for your acceptance letter.

Entries that arrive after March 2, 2007 will be returned unopened.

 

HAND DELIVERY OF PAINTINGS: All framed artwork must be delivered with labels given on the Identification Form to: Northern Trust, 6444 E Tanque Verde Dr, Tucson, AZ, 85715 between 3/28/07 and 3/30/07 from 8:30 am and 4:00pm.

 

 

SHIPPING PAINTINGS: Shipped artwork must be framed and have the labels from the Identification Form affixed to the back.  Deliver to: Northern Trust, ATT: Cheryl Herrick, 6444 E Tanque Verde Road, Tucson, AZ 85715, to arrive NO SOONER than 3/28/07 and NO LATER than 3/30/07, as storage at the Northern Trust is limited. SHIPPED PAINTINGS MUST BE SENT PREPAID IN STURDY, REUSEABLE CRATES OR CARTONS. DO NOT USE STYROFOAM PEANUTS. A $20.00 shipping and handling fee for EACH crate or carton shipped, payable to TPAPS, must be included with your shipped paintings.  This fee covers costs of receiving, uncrating and handling, plus repacking and return of unsold paintings.  Returned shipped paintings will be sent back COD, via UPS, FEDERAL EXPRESS, or by the same carrier used when delivered. You may send a prepaid shipping label. DO NOT SHIP BY BUS. ARTIST IS REQUIRED TO PAY SHIPPING CHARGES BOTH WAYS.  Slides will be taped to the back of the artwork when returned.

 

SIZE LIMITATIONS AND NUMBER OF PAINTINGS: Each artist will be limited to 2 paintings.  The size limitation is 16"x20" unframed for each work submitted.

 

FRAMING: We will follow exhibition quality framing standards.  We will accept gold, black, or silver frames.  ALL PAINTINGS MUST BE PROPERLY FRAMED and WIRED FOR HANGING.  No saw tooth hangers.  Artwork requiring glazing must use an acrylic glazing such as Plexiglas. (GLASS MAY BE USED FOR PASTELS. THE ARTIST ASSUMES ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR BREAKAGE AND/OR DAMAGE DUE TO BREAKAGE. PAINTINGS NOT MEETING THE REQUIREMENTS WILL NOT BE HUNG.

 

LIABILITY AND INSURANCE: Reasonable precautions will be taken to safeguard all entries.  Tucson Plein Air Painters’ Society, Inc. and Northern Trust  will not be responsible for the loss of, or damage to slides or any works in transit to the exhibition.  Works that are placed in the exhibition will be insured by the Bank while they are hanging on the walls.  Artists are strongly encouraged to provide their own insurance for artwork in transit and throughout the exhibit. 

 

EXHIBIT AND RECEPTION:  The exhibit runs from APRIL 5, 2007 to MAY 17, 2007.  The INVITATION ONLY RECEPTION hosted by NORTHERN TRUST will be

April 5, 2007- 4:30 to 6:00 PM. (please submit your guest list with entry form)

 

SALES: All artwork must be for sale and must be available for the duration of show. Paintings, that are purchased, may be taken by the collector after the opening reception or at any time purchased during the show dates.  A portion of TPAPS proceeds will be donated to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. 

 

COMMISSION:  Artist will receive 75% of sale price. TPAPS will receive 25%.

 

PICKING UP OF UNSOLD PAINTINGS: Paintings must be picked up May 18th between 8:00 am and 10:30 am at Northern Trust.  If you are having an emissary pick up your paintings, he or she must have a release signed by the artist and identification.  Slides will be taped to the back of the artwork.
