TUCSON PLEIN AIR PAINTER’S SOCIETY PRESENTS

ANNUAL DISTINGUISHED ARTIST MEMBERS SHOW

NOVEMBER 6, 2006 – JANUARY 31, 2007

     A TOTAL OF 3 paintings may be submitted.  You can submit a plein air color study along with a studio painting done from that study.  You can also submit another piece done ‘en plein air’. They can include architecture, landscapes, the figure(S) or still life that has been executed outdoors. Artists may enter work in any painting or drawing medium, including oil, acrylic, water media, pastel, graphite, pen & ink and colored pencil. The paintings must be original, conceived and executed by the entrant.  And must not have been executed in a workshop or classroom or under instructor supervision.  ONLY ONE studio work will be accepted if accompanied by its plein air color study/sketch.

 

ART WORK MUST NOT HAVE BEEN EXHIBITED IN PREVIOUS TPAPS SHOW OR EXHIBITION.

 

Paintings in the show will be photographed for publicity and placed on our web site WWW.TPAPS.COMThe photos will be kept by TPAPS for our permanent show records.

 

ELIGIBILITY:  All ARTIST MEMBERS of TPAPS who are members in good standing (dues paid) are eligible to enter paintings into the show.

 

AWARDS: First Place: $1,000.00, Second Place: $300.00, Third Place: $200.00, and three Honorable Mention awards.

 

SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING:

1.  One copy of your art related Biography (to be placed in show catalog)

2.  Entry Fee:  $30.00.  Please make your check payable to: TPAPS

3. This signed entry agreement and the completed submission form.

4. Your guests mailing list, limited to 20 names/addresses, TPAPS will mail out these invitations.

Entries that arrive after October 9, 2006 will be returned unopened.

 

HAND DELIVERY OF PAINTINGS: All art work  must be delivered, with your painting framed and tagged to Northern Trust Bank, 6444 E TANQUE VERDE DR, Tucson, AZ,85715 on 10/30 – 10/31 or 11/01/06 between 8:30 am and 4:00pm.

 

SHIPPING PAINTINGS: If you are shipping paintings, delivery of paintings are to be shipped to Northern Trust Bank, ATT: Cheryl Herrick, 6444 E TANQUE VERDE Road, Tucson, AZ 85715, to arrive NO SOONER than 10/25/06 and NO LATER than 11/1/06, as storage at the Bank is limited. SHIPPED PAINTINGS MUST BE SENT PREPAID IN STURDY, REUSEABLE CRATES OR CARTONS. DO NOT USE STYROFOAM PEANUTS. A $20.00 shipping and handling fee for EACH crate or carton shipped, payable to TPAPS, must be included with your shipped paintings.  This fee covers costs of receiving, uncrating and handling, plus repacking and return of unsold paintings.  Returned shipped paintings will be sent back COD, VIA UPS, FEDERAL EXPRESS, OR BY SAME CARRIER USED WHEN DELIVERED. You may send a prepaid shipping label. DO NOT SHIP BY BUS. ARTIST IS REQUIRED TO PAY SHIPPING CHARGES BOTH WAYS.

 

SIZE LIMITATIONS AND NUMBER OF PAINTINGS: Each artist will be limited to 3 paintings.  There is no size limitation for paintings.

 

FRAMING: We will follow exhibition quality framing standards.  We will accept gold, black, or silver frames.  ALL PAINTINGS MUST BE PROPERLY FRAMED and WIRED FOR HANGING.  No saw tooth hangers.  Artwork requiring glazing must use an acrylic glazing such as Plexiglas. (GLASS MAY BE USED FOR PASTELS. THE ARTIST ASSUMES ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR BREAKAGE AND/OR DAMAGE DUE TO BREAKAGE) PAINTINGS NOT MEETING THE REQUIREMENTS WILL NOT BE HUNG.

 

LIABILITY AND INSURANCE: Reasonable precautions will be taken to safeguard all entries.  Tucson Plein Air Painters’ Society, Inc. and Northern Trust Bank will not be responsible for the loss of, or damage to slides or any works in transit to the exhibition.  Works that are placed in the exhibition will be insured by the Bank while they are hanging on the walls.  Artists are strongly encouraged to provide their own insurance for artwork in transit and throughout the exhibit. 

 

EXHIBIT AND RECEPTION:  The exhibit runs from NOV 6, 2006 TO JAN 31, 2007.  The INVITATION ONLY RECEPTION Hosted by NORTHERN TRUST BANK will be Nov 9, 2006 – 4:30 - 6:00 PM. (please submit your guests list with entry form)

 

SALES: All artwork must be for sale and must be available for the duration of show. Sales are encouraged.  Paintings, that are purchased, may be taken by the collector after the opening reception. 

 

COMMISSION:  Artist will receive 75% of sale price. TPAPS WILL RECEIVE 25%.

 

PICKING UP OF UNSOLD PAINTINGS: Paintings must be picked up any day from 1/29 to 2/2/07 at Northern Trust Bank from 8:30 am to 4pm.  If you are having an emissary pick up your paintingS, they must have a release signed by you.

 

BY THE SIGNING OF THIS ENTRY FORM CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE OF ALL CONDITIONS AND TERMS STATED.
